Are you going to the 13th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival in Titusville the end of this month? If you are, be sure to look for me and say hello! I’ll be attending the whole week and will be blogging and tweeting about my experiences at all the classes and field workshops I signed up for. I’ll be shooting some video and (I hope) posting it on my YouTube channel www.YouTube.com/floridabeachhunter during the Festival so you can see what’s going on from my perspective. This is my first birding festival and I’m pretty excited about it. I expect to learn a lot from the professionals as well as from other participants.
I know there are going to be a lot of experienced birders there with their $1,500 binoculars and their $10,000 cameras, but there will also be a lot like me, carrying a $50 pair of binoculars and a $300 point-and-shoot camera.
It’s a bit early right now to know what the weather is going to be like in Titusville during the Festival, but in a few days we’ll be within reach of the 10-day forecast. Right now it looks like there is hope for pretty reasonable temperatures.
If you’ve not registered for the Festival yet, surf over to the Birding Festival web site and download their free catalog (link opens a pdf file that you can save to your computer). Any nature lover could find something they’d benefit from at the Festival.
