If you’re not familiar with the photography of Robert J. Amoruso you’re in for a real treat. Take a few minutes and visit his website at WildScapeImages.com and you’ll be glad you did. His photographs of nature, landscapes and birds are breathtaking. Looking at his photos of birds is almost like holding the bird in your hands.

Robert Amoruso is offering three photography workshops during the 13th Annual Space Coast Birding & Wildlife Festival. Bird photography will be the focus, but all nature will be fair game.

You’ll learn about metering/exposure, composition, designing pleasing backgrounds, equipment handling, photographing birds in flight and more.  Most of the instruction will center on using lenses of 400mm focal length or less, though he will cover what can be accomplished with longer focal lengths.

Amoruso is full of tricks and tips (developed through a great deal of field experience) that he will share with participants, such as:

  • Choosing the correct light angle
  • What is the best head angle and wing position
  • How to arrange a pleasing image of the bird in its environment
  • How to create a more pleasing background
  • How take better photos with shorter focal lengths

Amoruso will have tip sheets available that will cover important points mentioned during the workshops.

Participants will receive a CD with current and past presentations given by Amoruso as well as some of his professional workshop presentations on subjects like Photoshop workflow, how to make JPG images for email or web posting, etc.
