Don’t worry if you can’t pronounce it–Chassahowitzka–you can still enjoy the river and this video, which has to be one of my all time favorite 2-minute videos put together by Kevin Mims, aka Wahoo Hiker.

Every time I visit Kevin’s WahooHiker website it reminds me of a book I read over and over again in elementary school. It was titled “The Wahoo Bobcat” and was written by Joseph Warton Lippincott. That was hands down the favorite book of my childhood. It tells the story of a large bobcat that lived around the Wahoo Prairie and it helped fuel my love of nature.
I think the Wahoo Prairie is, or was, a real place in the wilds of northeast Florida. Maybe Kevin knows.
