This morning we woke up to Tornado warnings and severe weather warnings along the northern and central portions of the state. A late season cold front brought heavy winds, lightning, and a few water spouts and tornadoes. We really need the rain.
Lifeguard Curtis Mcfee captured this awesome photo with his cell phone camera just after the squall line passed his lifeguard tower at Coquina Beach at the south end of the island. Pictured is the rock jetty at Longboat Pass. Beer Can Island (aka Greer Island) can be seen on the other side of the pass.
