A motorized parachute cruises along Pass-A-Grille beach at sunset. Shell Key is visible in the distance.
The unusually cold winter is but a memory now as the heat and humidity take over. Not as hot as July and August, but getting closer day by day. We went for an evening walk on Pass-a-Grille beach Friday evening and enjoyed the sunset. I couldn’t help but think about the big glob of oil floating in the Gulf several hundred miles to our northwest. Will it dissipate? Will it sink out of sight? Will it directly affect us this summer? Lot’s of questions but no answers.

Pass-A-Grille beach is regularly raked clean by heavy equipment. I don't like this, but it is necessary on renourished beaches to keep the sand soft.
