After the Rain

Suzy went in for a swim. The water was much calmer than last week.

This afternoon we decided to leave the computers behind and head for the beach. Pass-a-Grille was our choice as it’s close by.

The sea oats are lush and absolutely gorgeous. It's enough to make a sea turtle want to lay eggs.

As we sat on the Pass-A-Grille jetty, a small rain shower formed south of Shell Key.

We took a walk down to the jetty and enjoyed a view of a very green and vibrant Shell Key as we watched a rain shower form and start moving toward us.

Within 15 minutes the rain shower grew threatening and chased us off the jetty.

We could imagine the anxiety experienced by a beach wedding party as the storm rapidly approached.

We took shelter in our car for about 20 minutes, just to be safe, even though we didn’t hear thunder. Then we came back out on the beach and set up our chairs to enjoy a nice sunset.

The rain quickly passed and set the stage for a nice sunset.

There's nothing like a quiet July evening on the beach after a rain.

July through October are wonderful months to be at the beach here on the Gulf coast of Florida. The snowbirds have gone home and the vibe is much more relaxed, even in the St. Pete Beach area. Plenty of parking. Traffic is light.

No oil.

No hurricanes.

Life is good.

And, the beach sunflowers are in bloom.

Cheers!

P.S. The weather cleared in time for the beach wedding. No worries.
