Friday evening we drove out to Anna Maria Island and parked in Holmes Beach on 46th Street. When I come here I always feel like I’m coming home since I spent so much time here as a youth. The beach was quiet and the water was calm as a lake, though not as clear as it has been. The water temps have started to come down a bit, so it’s no longer like bath water. Still plenty warm though. My guess is about 86 degrees F.
This entire video was shot and edited on my iphone. Then I downloaded it to my computer before uploading to YouTube.
And I shot this panoramic collage with the iphone also. The individual images are matched up and stitched together by an app called Autostitch:
After sunset we were starving so we drove down to Bradenton Beach to the Sun House Restaurant. I really wanted Sue to enjoy the food at Sun House. Unfortunately they were closed for vacation until September 23rd. So we headed down to one of our other favorites: Mr. Bones BBQ back in Holmes Beach.
Many of the dishes at Mr. Bones have a distinctly Indian flair, which we love. It’s casual, with a bizarre decor that makes me feel a bit like I’m in a Haitian voodoo enclave. Maybe it’s the masks hanging on the wall and the coffin full of ice and beer. Or maybe it’s just me…
