We drove out to the beach under clear skies, but by the time we arrived, a dissipating cumulonimbus over Tampa Bay suddenly shifted and moved rapidly to the west, threatening our sunset.

Angry remnants of storm clouds race towards us from the west as the winds whipped the palms.

Dark, low, fast-moving clouds overtake the blue sky over Sunset Beach and St. Pete Beach.

We were treated to a nice showing of crepuscular rays (look that one up) before the clouds blocked the setting sun.

The nearly full moon peeks from behind the marauding cloud bank to illuminate the beach and to work its magic on the tides.
