Siesta Key beach continues to hold its #2 position on Dr. Beaches Top Ten list for 2010.
Dr. Stephen Leatherman, aka Dr. Beach, has announced his list of the Nation’s Top Ten Beaches. Cooper’s Beach, Southampton, New York moved up from the #3 position to the #1 position this year. Siesta Key beach has retained its hold on the #2 position. What do I think?
This sums up my thoughts:
- Siesta Key beach current water temperature: 84 degrees
- Coopers beach, NY current water temperature: 56 degrees (brrr!)
What more can I say? Where would you prefer to swim this Memorial Day weekend?

Dr. Beach deserves many thanks for his fine work in drawing attention to our nation’s finest beaches. Awareness is an important part of preserving our beaches and coastal communities.
