Cannonball Jellyfish Seen in Destin

Posted by David McRee at BlogTheBeach. Tina B. of Andalusia, Alabama photographed this cannonball jellyfish near Crab Island in Destin, Florida. January 2009. This is generally a harmless jellyfish. It does not sting, but I’ve heard that when handled it can create a slimy substance that may irritate the skin or eyes.
