A couple of weeks ago I loaded my bike up on my car and drove down to Myakka River State Park. My family used to go there frequently when I was a kid. I camped there several times, both with my family and with the Boy Scouts (Troop 12 of Bradenton).
I hadn’t visited the park in over 30 years, so it was a sort of homecoming. It was a beautiful day. The birds were calling in search of mates for the spring nesting season, there was a cool breeze and the sky was clear.
I climbed the wooden tower and enjoyed the tree canopy walk (a new addition since I was last there).
Mostly I just enjoyed riding my bike along the park road, all the way to Clay Gulley where I stopped and ate my lunch along the banks of the river.
The editing is a little rough on this video–guess it’s about time to upgrade to a better editing program. You’ll also hear my Dad playing his harmonica. He’s 80 years old and sometimes entertains me when I visit by playing a few tunes. Last time I visited I used my iphone to record him playing.
