Cannonball Jellyfish Seen in Destin

Tina B. of Andalusia, Alabama photographed this cannonball jellyfish near Crab Island in Destin, Florida. January 2009. This is generally a harmless jellyfish. It does not sting, but I’ve heard that when handled it can create a slimy substance that may irritate the skin or eyes.

Portuguese Man-O-War Jellyfish on Panama City Beach
