It’s going on RIGHT NOW! The 2009 23rd American Sandsculpting Championship and Beach Festival on Fort Myers Beach. I was there two years a go and really enjoyed talking to the artists and seeing their incredible sculptures. It’s WAY beyond sandcastles. Here’s a video I shot with VISITFLORIDA to give you an idea of what to expect:

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday will see the highest attendance. That’s when you’ll see the most completed sculptures.
You’ll never think of sandcastles the same way again after attending this beach festival.
